Fourth of July Summit is a mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains of the northwestern United States, located in northern Idaho. Its elevation is 3,081 feet (939 m) above sea level [ 1 ] on Interstate 90 in central Kootenai County , east of the city of Coeur d'Alene .
The Idaho state government designated Route 2, the North Pacific Highway, between the Washington border and St. Regis Pass as part of its original numbered highway system in 1914. [24] Other sections of I-90 were built over the Yellowstone Trail and U.S. Route 10 , [ 25 ] though some parts of I-90 were cut as new roadway.
