Hayao Miyazaki was born on January 5, 1941, in the town Akebono-cho in Hongō, Tokyo City, Empire of Japan, the second of four sons. [1] [2] [3] [note 1] His father, Katsuji Miyazaki (born 1915), [1] was the director of Miyazaki Airplane, his brother's company, [5] which manufactured rudders for fighter planes during World War II. On Your Mark" (オン・ユア・マーク, On Yua Māku) is a song by the Japanese rock duo Chage & Aska. At their request, animator Hayao Miyazaki produced a music video for the song. The music video was created in 1995, is entirely animated, has no dialogue, and runs for about six and a half minutes. [3]
The production of the music video began because Miyazaki was suffering from writer's block on Princess Mononoke and needed another project to distract him. [1] Miyazaki wrote and directed the music video for "On Your Mark", although the song was previously released in 1994 as part of the single "Heart". [1]
