Georgetown is a census-designated place in Clay Township, St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. [1] The population was 4,497 at the 2000 census. It is part of the South Bend–Mishawaka, IN-MI, Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Columbia was laid out in 1832. [3] It took its name from Columbia Township. [ 4 ] A post office was established at Columbia in 1833, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903.
