Theodore Wirth Park is the regional park located in Minneapolis and Golden Valley, Minnesota, United States.Formally named Theodore Wirth Regional Park, it includes two golf courses (an 18-hole course and a 9-hole par 3 course), Wirth Lake, Birch Pond, cross-country ski trails, mountain biking trails, snow tubing hills, and other amenities.
The 3M Open is a professional golf tournament in Minnesota on the PGA Tour, held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, [1] a suburb north of Minneapolis. Announced by the PGA Tour in June 2018, the tournament debuted in 2019 on July 4–7. [2] [3] Minnesota-based company 3M is the title sponsor of the event.
Around the turn of the century, Australians with golf scholarships at the University of Minnesota have won the tournament. They include James McLean in 1998, [3] Ben Meyers in 2001, and Yu Katayama in 2008. [1] Since 2009, the event has alternated between Bunker Hills and a different course in the state. [1]
