Penske Corporation, Inc. (/ p ɛ n. s k iː /) is an American diversified transportation services company based in Bloomfield Township, Oakland County, Michigan. Roger Penske is the founder and chairman of the privately held company, and Rob Kurnick is the president.
Penske Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Penske Truck Leasing that has operations in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Penske Logistics provides supply chain management and logistics services such as dedicated carriage, distribution center management, transportation management, lead logistics, supply chain consulting, and freight brokerage services.
Ryder was founded in Miami, Florida, in 1933 by James Ryder as a concrete hauling company with one truck, a 1931 Model "A" Ford. [7] In 1938, Ryder signed a five-truck lease deal with Champagne Velvet Beer, increasing Ryder's fleet to 20 trucks. [8] By the following year, the fleet had more than 50 trucks.
