Amaran (transl. The Immortal) is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language biographical action war film written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, together with Sony Pictures Films India. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose and Bhuvan Arora.
The film's music rights were acquired by Sony Music India. On 17 February 2021, coinciding with Sivakarthikeyan's birthday, the first single "Vera Level Sago" was released. [9] [10] Two years later, the second single "Ayalaa Ayalaa" was released on 18 December 2023. [11] [12] The third song "Suro Suro" was released on 7 January 2024.
The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, with lyrics by Gangai Amaran. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] The song "Sorgame Endralum" is set to the raga Hamsanadam . [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] In May 2015, the FM radio station Radio City commemorated Ilaiyaraaja's 72nd birthday by broadcasting the composer's songs in a special show titled Raja Rajathan for 91 days.
