Allatoona is an unincorporated community in Bartow County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. [1] The community is located along Allatoona Creek , 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Cartersville. [ 1 ] It was once a small mining community until a dam was erected at the base of the Etowah River , completely flooding the town of Allatoona.

Noonday Creek is a 20.2-mile-long (32.5 km) [1] stream in Cobb and Cherokee counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The stream begins near Kennesaw Mountain and ends at Lake Allatoona. The Etowah River flows through these peaks and upstream forms Lake Allatoona. The Pine Log Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is located primarily in northern Bartow County, Georgia. Spanning approximately 14,134 acres, it is a privately owned tract that has been leased and used as a WMA by the Georgia DNR for over 40 years.
