Cracker is an American rock band formed in 1990 by lead singer David Lowery and guitarist Johnny Hickman.The band's first album Cracker was released in 1992 on Virgin Records; it included the single "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)", which went to #1 on the U.S. Modern Rock chart.
Lowery graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics.He earned an Ed.D. from the University of Georgia of in 2018. [6] [7] He has worked as a "quant" (a derivatives trader and financial analyst) and has started a number of music-related businesses, including a studio, a record company and a publishing company. Gentleman's Blues is Cracker's fourth studio album. [4] [5] It was released in 1998 by Virgin Records.[6] [7]Cracker frontman David Lowery said that the album's name arose when guitarist Johnny Hickman heard him playing a tune on the piano and observed that it sounded like an old Southern gentleman trying to play the blues.
