The main ferry connection between Great Britain and Ireland will remain closed until 15 January at the earliest, after the port of Holyhead suffered damage during a storm earlier this month.

In November 2021, it was announced that the Ciudad de Mahón was acquired by Irish Continental Group, and was due to return to Dover on the Dover-Calais sailing in Q1 2022. [3] She sailed her last sailing for Trasmediterránea on January 31, 2022.

MS Oscar Wilde is a cross-channel ferry to be operated by Irish Ferries on the Dover-Calais route. Formerly named Spirit of Britain, she is the first of two Spirit-class ships built for P&O Ferries, the other being Spirit of France. The vessels are the largest ferries constructed for the cross-channel route.
