The Verde Valley Archaeology Center, commonly abbreviated as VVAC, is a museum and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Camp Verde, Arizona. Founded in 2010, the museum contains exhibits on Native American culture in the Verde Valley and offers educational programs. [ 1 ]
The farmers requested military protection from the United States Army and, in 1865, although Arizona was still only a territory, the infantry arrived. They set up several posts over the next few years: 1865, a small camp five miles (8 km) south of what is today Camp Verde. 1866–1871, Camp Lincoln, a mile north of today's Fort Verde.

The name was gazetted in 1865 applying to the portion South of 16°S of what is now the Northern Territory. [9] For some time, Northern Territory including Arnhem Land referred only to the region north of that line. [10] [11] [12] In 1863, the Northern Territory was annexed by South Australia by letters patent.
The mountain also contains the remains of a large pueblo with 50 to 60 rooms. The pueblo is broken up into 3 blocks of around 20 rooms each. It also has a Hohokam ball court, the last identified court to be constructed in Verde Valley. The court has been largely eroded, however. [4]
