Dampit is an administrative district in the southern part of Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. It is situated near the coast of the Indian Ocean, about 36 kilometres southeast of the city of Malang. It had a total population of 127,129 at the 2020 Census; [2] the mid 2023 estimate was 131,480. [1]
The destruction of the town was known as Malang Kutho Bedhah. In the era of the Dutch East India Company, Malang was a base for the Trunojoyo resistance (1674-1680) against the Company-assisted Mataram. In the early nineteenth century, the government was headed by the Governor-General. The first Malang Regent was Raden Tumenggung Notodiningrat.

Through a continuous series of expansions since 2019, the mall has a current gross floor area of 498,000 square meters (5,360,000 sq ft). The mall's redevelopment began with the opening of The Block in July 2006. Among the developments were a new Annex building which opened in December 2008 and Sky Garden which opened in May 2009.
The mall is connected to Phrom Phong BTS Station on the Sukhumvit Line of the BTS Skytrain. It is one of three malls in the “EM District”, along with Emporium and EmSphere .
