Central Fife was a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from February 1974 until 2005, when it was largely replaced by the new Glenrothes constituency, with a small portion joining the expanded North East Fife.
The seat includes the major settlements of Glenrothes, Levenmouth (part of), Lochgelly, Kelty and Cardenden. It was created at the 2005 general election as Glenrothes, and renamed as Glenrothes and Mid Fife for the 2024 general election under the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies. [1]
Most of the Fife Central Westminster constituency was merged into the Glenrothes constituency. The Holyrood constituency of Central Fife was one of five Mid Scotland and Fife constituencies covering the Fife council area, the others being Dunfermline East, Dunfermline West, Fife North East and Kirkcaldy. All are entirely within the council area.

Glenrothes with Thornton railway station is located in Thornton in Fife, Scotland. It serves the communities of Thornton and Glenrothes. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Fife Circle Line, 31 + 1 ⁄ 4 miles (50.3 km) north of Edinburgh Waverley.
