These templates shows a chess diagram, a graphic representation of a position in a chess game, using standardised symbols resembling the pieces of the standard Staunton chess set. The default template for a standard chess board is {{ Chess diagram }} .

In this example, the scope attribute defines what the headers describe, column or row, which screen readers use. However, HTML tables are discouraged because wikitables are easier to customize and maintain, as described at manual of style on tables.
Although this template will create a table up to great-great-grandparents (ahnentafel 31) it will be wider than easily represented on most screens and/or printers so consider using {} or {{Ahnentafel-tree}} instead.
