The Modesto Interurban Railway linked the Santa Fe with Modesto. On April 12, 1909, the grading commenced. Just days before the Modesto & Empire Traction began taking over the railroad, the Modesto Interurban Railway completed construction and operated its first train. By November 1, 1911, the Modesto & Empire Traction was leasing the railway.
All of the stations could be operating by 2030, which is also when the state hopes to complete its first high-speed rail segment between Merced and Bakersfield.
Altamont Corridor Express, or ACE, is a commuter rail service in California's San Joaquin, Alameda, and Santa Clara counties. As of 2022, the service has ten stations. [1] Additional stations, most in the Central Valley, are planned as part of several expansion projects.
