State Route 77 (SR 77) is a 253.93-mile (408.66-kilometre) long state highway in Arizona that traverses much of the state's length, stretching from its southern terminus at a junction with I-10 in Tucson to its northern terminus with BIA Route 6 at the Navajo Nation boundary just north of I-40.
The initial section of SR 210 has a very long history in Tucson. Called the Barraza-Aviation Highway, all but the last few miles were completed in the 1990s. On July 8, 2008, the Mayor and Council voted 6–0 to approve Alignment 3.d., which would extend SR 210 to I-10 at the current St. Mary's Road overpass.
At the time, it was only paved from Phoenix to Hassayampa. Although not paved between Hassayampa and Gila Bend, it was an improved road. [6] This original routing of US 80 still exists as Old US 80 west of the SR 85 alignment. [7] A dirt road between Gila Bend and Ajo did exist at this time, but it was not a part of the state highway system. [6]

Part of the Lone Star Trail was designated as Arizona State Route 84 by the Arizona State Highway Department on September 9, 1927. [6] Originally, SR 84 terminated at US 80 in Tucson in the east and SR 187 in Casa Grande in the west. [7] In 1928, the western terminus of SR 84 was extended to US 80 in Gila Bend.
North of this junction, SR 87 travels along Arizona Avenue in Chandler, intersecting Loop 202 before entering Mesa and becoming Country Club Drive.
