On both measurments, it looks to be slightly thicker than the HF model. The Pro Lift is ~8.4 lbs for the base (this number excludes the weight of the locking pin) and 4.75 lbs for the stem. The HF model is 8lbs for the base and 4lbs for the stem. The stem on the PL contains 11 height adjustment points to the HF's 13 adjustment points.
I ordered the Pro-Lift 6-ton set from Amazon Prime. $43 with two day shipping. I like the two-pin locking system. Reading over the Amazon reviews, there weren't really any major quality-control scares on the Pro-Lift ones but some people reported safety issues on the OTC and Torin ones.
It may have been mentioned but when jacks stands state 3,4,6 ton rating, it's referring to the rating for two stands rather than one. Suggest 6 ton stands giving 3 tons. for each one. Jacks should be rated at 3 tons plus. Always use proper jack stands and use an adequately rated jack as a backup when working under a vehicle.
saw something odd yesterday at Harbor Freight. Was looking at buying some bigger jack stands. Saw a bunch rated at "6 tons" and stamped as such. But then a close inspection of the box revealed that it said something like "rated at 6 tons *per pair*" (emphasis mine).

They have had a slew of recent recalls and many folks here haven't used them for years due to concerns over quality.
