Gaara of the Desert (我愛羅) is a character in the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. Originally debuting as an antagonist , Gaara is a shinobi affiliated with Sunagakure and is the son of Sunagakure's leader, the Fourth Kazekage.
Onoki and Mu trade blows to each other until Gaara arrives to assist Onoki. Shocked, Gaara sees Naruto delivering Mu with his Planetary Rasengan which Mu quickly evades but with the support of Gaara, Naruto manages to land his new Rasengan jutsu to Mu. Just as Mu to be sealed, Mu utters a warning yet the sealing stops his talking.

At a desolated beach, a night-time battle rages between the sand ninjas and bulky, robot-like, armored warriors. Gaara and the group of sand ninjas gain the upper-hand and when the remaining warriors begin to retreat back into the ocean, they shoot flares into the night to reveal a large warship waiting just offshore.
Gaara assumes the position of Captain of Battle Squad Four, and Commander in Chief of all five battle units. Meanwhile, Kabuto summons his army of reanimated ninja that include deceased Akatsuki members, previous Kage, the most recent Jinchuriki of the captive tailed beasts, and other powerful ninja.
