Pizza Hut, LLC [3] is an American multinational pizza restaurant chain and international franchise founded in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas by brothers Dan and Frank Carney.The chain, headquartered in Plano, Texas, operates 19,866 restaurants worldwide as of 2023.
Frank became a franchisee of Papa John's Pizza in 1994. [2] By 2001, he owned 133 locations. Based in Houston, his company runs stores in Kansas, Arizona, Missouri, California, Texas and Hawaii, including several in his hometown of Wichita and the suburbs of Derby and Andover, under the franchise name PJ Wichita LLC., before selling the franchise to then Franchise President Terry Newman.
PepsiCo divested the brands in 1997, and these consolidated as Yum! The company operates KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, WingStreet (Pizza Hut's chicken wing menu), and Habit Burger & Grill since 2020, except in China, where the brands are operated by another company known as Yum China. Yum! previously also owned Long John Silver's and A&W Restaurants.

Franklin was formally incorporated by the state assembly on November 2, 1820, [5] on a 62-acre (250,000 m 2) tract of land. This tract was purchased from William Hudspeth and was named for Founding Father Benjamin Franklin. [6] The post office was established on September 29, 1822, with Robert W. Simpson as postmaster. [7]
