Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World [1] is an 85 acres (34 ha) amusement park in Grand Island, New York near Niagara Falls, New York. It features a theme park, water park, and is adjacent to a KOA campground. The park is owned by Store Capital and operated by IB Parks & Entertainment. [2]
The park struggled due to poor staffing, lack of advertising and attractions, and a high admission price, [2] and was ordered closed in 1991 by then-Niagara Falls mayor Jake Palillo due to unpaid water bills. The city council voted to take over the park in 1992 and operated it until 1998.
The train was originally Purple, later painted to look like a comet (Red, Orange, Yellow), and eventually was painted a metallic blue. The train itself however, was sold following the parks closure in 2020. It was initially sold to get refurbished, but was repurchased by the newly reopened Niagara Amusement Park.

Mardi Gras Hangover is a fire ball attraction currently in storage at Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World in Grand Island, New York, United States.The attraction was previously located at Six Flags Great America from 2018 to 2023, before being delivered to Niagara Amusement Park in February 2024. Re-opened at The Great Escape in 1994, this roller coaster already had a 41-year history as The Comet at Crystal Beach (an amusement park near Niagara Falls, Ontario). It was saved shortly after the park closed down forever after the 1989 season.
