The Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination is a 500-item multiple choice exam to test basic nursing level competency which considers the objectives of the nursing curriculum, the broad areas of nursing and other related disciplines and competencies. The 21 students from the 1st graduated batch scored 100% passing rate in Board exams and 6 out of them came among the Top 10. Two years later in 1961, Virgen Milagrosa Hospital School of Nursing was opened and in 1964 the first graduates of the School of Nursing obtained a 100 percent passing rate in the board exams.
