The Marianna Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on May 23, 1997) located in Marianna, Florida. The district is bounded by Davis, Park, Jackson, and Wynn Streets. It contains 181 historic contributing buildings and one contributing object. [1]
Marianna is located in central Jackson County at (30.776370, –85.238149 U.S. Route 90 passes through the center of town as Lafayette Street, leading east 14 miles (23 km) to Grand Ridge and west 9 miles (14 km) to Cottondale .

US 90 not only passes through the county seats of all the 16 counties it runs through on its course in Florida and is also the road upon which many of the county courthouses are located, but it was the first paved road in Florida (from Jacksonville westward a few miles).

SR 166 is a short south to north state highway running through Marianna and a portion of rural Jackson County northeast of the city limits. SR 273 is a south to north state highway running through northwestern Jackson County. SR 276 exists primarily in Marianna, but has county extensions in both Washington and Jackson Counties.
Briefly after crossing the county line, SR 20 continues southeast before turning east into Choctaw Beach, skirting along the Choctawhatchee Bay, as a two lane road.Upon leaving Choctaw Beach, the speed limit increases from 45 mph (72 km/h) to 55–60 mph (89–97 km/h) into Portland, intersecting Eglin Site C-6 before intersecting County Road 83A, a loop road, twice in Freeport.
