The UIC Flames men's soccer team represents the University of Illinois at Chicago in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Flames previously played in the Horizon League , but moved to the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2022.

Reggie is present at all home football games, women's volleyball matches, men's basketball games, women's basketball games, and appears at various other athletic events. Reggie also does numerous of appearances at schools and events within the Twin Cities, the state of Illinois, and the country. Reggie Redbird is a student bedecked in costume.
The team played 13 games as the Buffalo Bison during the 1946–47 season before moving to Moline, Illinois. Moved to Milwaukee and became the Milwaukee Hawks (1951–1955), moved again to St. Louis , Missouri (1955–1968), then moved once more and are now the Atlanta Hawks (1968–Present).

Football returned as a club sport in 1963, as a varsity sport in 1969, and began competing independently in Division III in 1973. The school was part of the Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference from 1976 to 1987, and its football team joined the Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference's successor, the Midwest Conference (MWC), in 2017.
