I'm going to build my kitchen counter tops using granite looking formica. My base cabents are exactly 24 inches deep, the people at the counter top store said that 25 inches is the basic depth of counter tops. I just want to confirm that they are right before I start cutting my plywood to size.
Most seem to be 24" without handle and <29" with handle. I've found counter depth refrigerators, but that's cause a standard fridge is ~30" deep. Best buy has depth as a sorting criteria, but w/ vs w/o handle makes that feature tough to use. Florida Panhandle. MTN REMODEL LLC, SPS-1 and CaptTom.
It's normal for a standard fridge to protrude proud of the counter top and cabinetry. You're probably so used to the look of the 24" deep fridge. But surrounding this entire fridge will not really make it look any better, imho. "The best argument against democracy, is a five minute conversation with the average voter."

My current sink on the top measures 33-13/16" side-to-side by 19-5/8" front-to-back on top. The opening (measuring from under the sink) is about 32-3/4" side-to-side x 19" front-to-back. It's a little tough to measure exactly given the cramped space. The faucet mounts to the counter - the sink doesn't have any faucet holes. The basin is about 7 ...
Plus, it be nice to hide any kitchen mess when entertaining. So, could the counter top over hand 2 inches without support on either side. wall = 4 3/4 + 4 inches (2 inch overhang each side) = 8 3/4 inch wide counter top. This extends the countertop well past door/drawer front (1"-1 1/4") to a roughly even depth with the knobs and pulls. I visited a number of kithchen showrooms and have seen that the deeper granite counter is in fact the norm. I was told by a granite fabricator that I could go less deep on the counter if I desired, but he didn't feel it looks as ...
While it does specify a 24" deep countertop, the last 2" of that space are reserved for plumbing/electrical. Lower 4", that space is about 3.5" wide. As far as I can recall, there are no protruding parts on the back, so it should fit under a 22" deep counter - provided your supply, drain and electrical all enter dishwasher space within 4" from ...
Thanks for the advice everyone! Yes, I, just got boxes like these from my local electrical supply place. Actually I first got some tan Allied "Slider Boxes" from there, which I thought would work great because they are adjustable depth, but that didn't work well. Unless you tighten them down so much that they get out of square, you can't keep ...

The countertop is the laminate type and the center is press wood for lack of better term. I would like to install this and have it look as good as possible. The old cooktop is about 31" and new is 29" and then some.
