Copiah County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2020 census, the population was 28,368. [1] The county seat is Hazlehurst. [2] With an eastern border formed by the Pearl River, Copiah County is part of the Jackson, MS Metropolitan Statistical Area.
There were a total of 2,914 students enrolled in the Copiah County School District during the 2006–2007 school year. The gender makeup of the district was 48% female and 52% male. The racial makeup of the district was 59.33% African American, 38.88% White, 1.65% Hispanic, and 0.14% Asian.
Lincoln County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2020 census, the population was 34,907. [1] Its county seat is Brookhaven. [2] The county was created by the legislature on April 7, 1870, during the Reconstruction Era. It was formed from portions of Lawrence, Pike, Franklin, Copiah, and Amite counties.
