Kavi Pradeep (born Ramchandra Narayanji Dwivedi; 6 February 1915 – 11 December 1998), [1] was an Indian poet and songwriter who is best known for his patriotic song "Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo" written as a tribute to the soldiers who had died defending the country during the Sino-Indian War.
The highly popular patriotic song "Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon", which was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and penned by poet Pradeep, was a composition of Ramchandra. [3] It was later performed live, by Lata Mangeshkar , in the presence of Jawaharlal Nehru at the National Stadium , in New Delhi on Republic Day in 1963.
