Women for Sobriety (WFS) is a non-profit secular addiction recovery group for women with addiction problems. WFS was created by sociologist Jean Kirkpatrick in 1976 as an alternative to twelve-step addiction recovery groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

[3] Its 228-bed capacity made it the largest drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in the state of Tennessee. [1]
Some SLHs offer intensive outpatient services, including on-site medical care. These homes are often staffed in shifts by psychiatric nurses and licensed clinical social workers, who provide residents with 24-hour supervision and centralized recovery care. SLHs may be certified or governed by Sober Living Coalitions or Networks.
