Glass bed BEFORE you float as it helps keep the action in the proper position during bedding. Bed and then float. Before glassing, Drill your action screw holes out a large as possible without the hole showing on the outside of the metal/wood, then after the glass has cured, drill the glas out enough to prevent any stock screw to stock contact ...

  3. M-77 accuracy tip - Ruger Forum

    www.rugerforum.net/threads/m-77-accuracy-tip.93323

38 posts · Joined 2013. #1 · Dec 3, 2013. I am a new member to the forum and have this tip that I learned many years ago on accuracy issues with M-77's. I did not invent it, but rather read it in some magazine article on Ruger M-77's back then. I first used it on a 1987 M-77 with tang safety and recently used it on a new Hawkeye, both 308's.

Hello all, New to the group, looking for a clue about my Rifle. I have a 1976 M77 in 6mm Rem (original owner). It never shot with spectacular accuracy, but now it plain sucks. The best I have shot with factory ammo is 2-3 inch groups at 100yds, the worst being 12". I have read about copper fouling and have been pulling a blue patch out of this ...

    327. Sep 1, 2014. #7. Ruger #1 and #3 threads are the same as Ruger 77R and Mark II and Hawkeye. They are not the same barrel shank LENGTH however. The single shot barrel shanks are longer, enough to have barrel face metal to mill the extractor relief into. I found a Ruger #3 take off barrel in .45/70 with the open sights still on it.

Several other ammo manufactures numbers were close to Remington's with same weight bullets. The big difference was the price per box with the 270 being $10 a box ...

  7. Ruger American vs. Ruger M77 - RugerForum.com

Nov 11, 2013. #1. IMHO, yes. The American is fine for an entry level rifle for the guy that just wants to kill a deer once a year. For the man that wants a rifle he would be proud to show his friends and hand down to his grandkids, the 77MK2 has it beat all to Hades. I much prefer the Mauser type action on the 77, with the controlled round feed ...

  8. Allen head screws for M77 rifles - Ruger Forum

    www.rugerforum.com/threads/allen-head-screws-for-m77-rifles.177799

The Allen head button head screw is .250" in diameter, just a smidge too large for the rear trigger guard hole. The original factory screw head is .230" in diameter. Just chuck the screw in an electrical, spin it and use a file to remove .020 off the diameter. Touch it up with cold blue ( for the black screws) and it will fit perfectly.

Ruger m77 mkii carpenter technology. Hello all, I recently acquired this M77 222 rem that looks to be some typ of collectors gun. I'm looking for some values on what it would be worth today. It's never been fired and come with a bunch of accessories and even the original recipe. I don't know that it qualifies as a collector gun.

Mershon pads were changed to red Goodyear pads around #70-20000. Early pads were a bright, orange-red color & pads starting in the #73 prefix ...
