The Royal County of Berkshire Show is an annual agricultural show in Berkshire, England that started in 1909 at Enborne Gate Farm, Newbury, as a horse show and has now grown to be a significant event for the farming world. [1] The Newbury and District Agricultural Society was formed in 1909 to run the show and continues to do so. [2]

A reception was held there on 26 August 1879 to celebrate the cutting of the first sod on the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway by Catherine, Countess of Carnarvon, [7] and a public dinner was held there on 12 April 1882 to celebrate the opening of the railway by Lady Loyd-Lindsay. [8]
