The Kirkstall Valley Campaign was an action group formed to fight the development of a river valley near Kirkstall, England. [1] It spanned over ten years from around 1986 through 1996. The museum was first proposed in 1992. Kirkstall's brewery was first registered in 1871 and its original building remains, albeit as student flats (the current brewery operates from premises nearby). Kirkstall Forge continued to grow throughout this period. During the late 18th century, the reconstruction of the upper and lower forges allowed 'shovel and spade production' to commence.
Several highways cross the formation, including (from south to north) GA SR 2, TN SR 317, APD-40, US 11/US 64, SR 312, Interstate 75 and SR 60 (together), Paul Huff Parkway, and SR 308.
