Laketran was established as the Regional Transit Authority for Lake County in 1974. Laketran's services include local Routes 1–9, Park-n-Ride Routes 10–12, commuter express routes to downtown Cleveland, and Dial-a-Ride, a door-to-door demand response paratransit service.
LCT also provided an express bus route from Elyria to the RTA park and ride lot in Westlake. LCT proposed to extend the route to Downtown Cleveland . On September 10, 2012, LCT launched the "Cleveland Commuter" express route that operated from Elyria to Downtown Cleveland, but was later discontinued on August 16, 2013 due to low ridership.
Laketran also provides connecting services in Concord. Geauga Transit fares are accepted in cash with exact change required. Discounts are available where applicable, while care attendants can ride for free. Stopovers up to 5 minutes are subject to an additional $1 fee.
