Vinod (28 May 1922 – 25 December 1959) was a famous Indian film music director of the 1950s. In 1949, he composed a hit Punjabi film song Lara Lappa Lara Lappa Lai Rakhda sung by Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar, in the film Ek Thi Ladki (1949).

Hafeez Jalandhari was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, British India on 14 January 1900 into a Punjabi Muslim family. [1] His father, Shams-ud-Din, was a Hafiz-e-Qur'an. Jalandhari initially studied in a mosque school and later joined a conventional local school. He only received formal education until the seventh grade.
Kavishari or kavishri (Punjabi: ਕਵੀਸ਼ਰੀ) is a style of Punjabi folk music entailing energetic and dynamic a cappella singing. [1] It was originated in the Malwa region of Punjab as a sung form of "Chhand-Baddh" kavita (poetry). [1] [2] A performer or writer of kavishari is known as a kavishar (Punjabi: ਕਵੀਸ਼ਰ). [3]
