Carroll County is a county located in the state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 26,721. [2] Its county seat is Carrollton, while its largest village is Minerva. [3] It is named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence.
Brown Township was made an independent township in 1815 while a part of Stark County. [ 5 ] With the formation of Carroll County in 1833, two miles off the east side of Sandy Township were annexed to the west side of Brown Township, creating an eight mile wide township.
