Hot is the debut extended play (EP) by South Korean singer Taeyang, a member of boy group Big Bang under YG Entertainment. It was released through YG Entertainment on May 22, 2008, as Taeyang's debut as a solo artist. Two singles were spawned from the EP—"Only Look at Me" featuring Teddy Park and "Prayer".
Taeyang followed up with the release of his second studio album Rise in June 2014, which became the highest-charting album on the American Billboard 200 among solo Korean artists at the time it was released, [4] while its lead-single, "Eyes, Nose, Lips", became the second best-performing single of 2014 in South Korea. [5]
Taeyang's EP Hot was mainly a collection of R&B songs, the singer naming the genre his "main focus". [226] Daesung's first digital single, "Look at Me, GwiSoon" was a trot song, which drew criticism due to BigBang's image as "hip-hop artists". [227]
Taeyang's first full-length album Solar was released in July 2010 in two versions: a "Regular Edition" and a "Deluxe Edition". The regular edition contained eleven songs while the deluxe edition, limited to only 30,000 copies, had 13 songs, including "Only Look at Me" and "Prayer" from Hot.
