Torcida Split or simply Torcida is the Hajduk Split supporters' group. Founded on 28 October 1950, it's known the oldest supporters' groups in Europe . The name of the group comes from torcida , the Brazilian Portuguese word for "supporters".
On 13 February 2011, Hajduk commemorated its 100th anniversary with a massive celebration in Split and all of Croatia, with both Hajduk players and fans honouring the club. The entire city was decorated with Hajduk banners, flags, posters and paraphernalia, and there was a spectacular firework show over Split.
In 1920, Hajduk played in the first championship of Split football subassociation. From 1923, Hajduk participated in first club competition on a national level for clubs from Kingdom of Yugoslavia organized in various cup and league formats. They won two titles, in 1927 and 1929. [1] [2] [3]
