Module:Location map/data/USA Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County is a location map definition used to overlay markers and labels on an equirectangular projection map of the Pennsylvania county of Philadelphia. The markers are placed by latitude and longitude coordinates on the default map or a similar map image.
An 1836 map of Pennsylvania's counties. The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) code, used by the U.S. government to uniquely identify counties, is provided with each entry. FIPS codes are five-digit numbers; for Pennsylvania the codes start with 42 and are completed with the three-digit county code.
If |map_link= points to an article (e.g., Denton County, Texas), the alt text should be about the article. If |map_link= points to the image ( e.g. , File:Map of Texas highlighting Denton County.svg , the alt text should describe the visual appearance of the map; see the guidelines for alt text of maps .
A marker image does not have to be small and opaque. A larger overlay image (with a transparent background) can be used to show particular features not included in the base map, such as a town's former walls (see the adjacent map, whic is using [[File:Leicester Town Walls map overlay.svg]] ).
