Mike Bamiloye was born in Ilesa, a town in Osun State in southwestern Nigeria on April 13, 1960 [9] but hails from Ijebu-Ijesa in Osun State. He was trained at the Divisional Teachers’ Training College at Ipetumodu where he began his career.
He reigned as Lagos Monarch from 1965 till 2003. Adeyinka Oyekan was the second Christian Oba of Lagos, the first being Ibikunle Akitoye. [2] He was considered a pacifist and bridge builder during his reign. [4] Adeyinka Oyekan was also a pharmacist under the Methodist Mission at Amachara and Umuahia in the then East Central State of Nigeria.
