The University of New South Wales (UNSW), also known as UNSW Sydney, is a public research university based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is one of the founding members of Group of Eight , a coalition of Australian research-intensive universities.
UNSW Foundation Studies provides foundation courses to assist students in meeting tertiary admission requirements and preparing for university entry. It is based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) campus in Kensington, a suburb of Sydney.
To that end, the university established the Faculty of Military Studies at RMC to conduct courses leading to the award of the university's degrees in arts, science and engineering. [2] Also in 1967, the University of New South Wales entered into an association with the RAN College enabling it to present approved courses.
UNSW College, owned by UNSW Sydney, offers pathway programs for international students to university. UNSW was the first in Australia to offer a Foundation Studies program, and also established the first university language centre in the country. More recently, UNSW College's offerings have increased with the addition of Diplomas and Pre-Masters.
In 1977, UNSW established the AGSM as New South Wales' second school of postgraduate management studies. [2] In January 1999, the AGSM and the Graduate School of Business of the University of Sydney merged under the AGSM brand. In November 2005, the universities demerged their business schools and the AGSM reverted to wholly UNSW ownership.
