Circus World Museum is located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, because Baraboo was home to the Ringling Brothers. It was from Baraboo in 1884 that the Ringling Brothers Circus began their first tour as a circus. Baraboo's Elks lodge bought the house from Ringling's family in 1936 and used it as a clubhouse for several decades; it is currently a historic house museum and brewery. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 17, 1976.
