Sniper's Hide Dealer: CHARLIE'S. Yeah, piggy-backing on the question. My understanding is that the Bergara B14 action has Remington action threads and therefore is not compatible with Savage barrels; and since it has no bolt nose it does not work with remage barrels. Bergara does offer a Savage threaded barrel.
What ya'lls thoughts on these two rifles when compared to each other? Not debating caliber, just the two rifles themselves. The Bergara B-14 Terrain Wilderness comes with a cerakoting, AI mag, and adjustable comb stock with flush cups. It also has a 1:10 twist barrel. The Tikka is stainless and has a 1:11 twist barrel.
Manassas, VA. Feb 17, 2019. #24. The HMR is a great rifle for the hunter that doesn't need to hike several miles. It's also a great rifle to get started in long range shooting whether it's a PRS match or just a simple long range match at your local range. That's why they call it the Hunting and Match Rifle (HMR).
I’ve also narrowed down the rifles to either: 1) Bergara B-14 HMR. 2) Tikka T3X CTR 24”. 3) Browning X-Bolt Hell’s Canyon Speed. I’vd read tons of reviews and they all are highly rated by the critics and right around the $1000 price point that I’ve been setting for myself.

The premier ridgeback is essentially a custom rifle built with Bergara's action & barrel. You're just stuck without being able to customize out of the factory of course. M.
Keep in mind that Bergara rifles have a heavier firing pin spring which means that it could be problematic when looking for triggers that break at just several ounces. That being said, there have been users that have successfully used Bix’n Andy and Elftmann triggers to get pull weights down in the 3-5 oz range.
at the plunger tip. ( 32 threads per inch / 360* x 110* = .0095" ) If you measure the trigger, from the pivot to where the plunger contacts it and then from pivot to sear it is about 2.4 : 1. So .0095" at contact point x 2.44 ratio = .023" movement at the sear. The sear to trigger looks to be about 1.9.
Missouri. Dec 7, 2018. #15. I've had the chance to shoot both a Bergara Premier LRP Elite and a Chistensen TFM in the past year (more experience with the TFM), so here's my brief comparison between the two: Christensen Pros: - Very lightweight, with a beefy scope (TT525P) the whole thing was still under 10 lbs.
