Siltcoos (also known as Siltcoos Station) is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is about 13 miles (21 km) south of Florence on the east shore of Siltcoos Lake. The word Siltcoos is Native American and could refer to the name of a local chief or to a family name.
The resort is named for the Coos, Umpqua, and Siuslaw rivers, which flow into the Pacific Ocean in southern Oregon. The Florence location, opened in 2004, includes a 93-room hotel, opened in 2007, and adjoining Ocean Dunes Golf Course, purchased in 2012. [1] It is the second-largest employer in the city.
The lake is about 3 miles (5 km) south of Florence along U.S. Route 101. [2] Sharing the lakeshore are private properties as well as Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and Jessie M.
