Leuchars (pronounced / ˈ l uː x ər s / ⓘ or / ˈ l uː k ər z /; Scottish Gaelic: Luachar "rushes") is a town and parish near the north-east coast of Fife in Scotland. The civil parish has a population of 5,754 (in 2011) [ 2 ] and an area of 13,357 acres (5,405 hectares).

Lady Leng Memorial Chapel (also known as Vicarsford Cemetery Chapel) is a church building in Leuchars, Fife, Scotland. Built between 1895 and 1897, to a design by Thomas Martin Cappon, it is now a Category A listed building. Historic Environment Scotland describes it as "a fine and rare example of a small ecclesiastical building type". [1]

The original station for Leuchars was some 45 chains (910 m) north of the current station and was opened on 17 May 1848. It became the junction for St Andrews on 1 July 1852. It was closed to passengers when Leuchars Junction opened on 1 June 1878 but reopened as "Leuchars (old)" six months later.

Nowadays, the only public transport to reach trains at Leuchars or to connect other towns in Fife is the Stagecoach bus station located near the town centre. Stagecoach's Route 99 (and its alternate routes 99A, 99B, 99C, 99D) connects St Andrews to Dundee via Leuchars with buses up to every ten minutes.
