Gifts (2004) is a young adult fantasy novel by Ursula K. Le Guin. It is the first book in the Annals of the Western Shore trilogy, and is followed in the series by Voices . The story is set in a fictional world, in a barren and poverty-stricken region called the Uplands, some of whose inhabitants have hereditary magical gifts.
Miss Rumphius is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Barbara Cooney and originally published by the Viking Press in 1982. It features the life story of fictional Miss Alice Rumphius, a woman who sought a way to make the world more beautiful and found it in planting lupines in the wild.
The name was used from 1986 to 1988 before a major shift in the band's line-up. Japanese rock band Urbangarde titled a 2015 song "Coin Locker Babies" and music video after the novel. [3] The plot of the video game Yakuza: Like a Dragon was heavily inspired by this book, with Chapter 13 even being titled "Coin Locker Baby" as a nod to the novel.
