U.S. Route 93 (US 93) is a United States Numbered Highway in the state of Arizona that begins in Wickenburg and heads north to the Nevada state line at the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The total length of US 93 in Arizona is 199.38 miles (320.87 kilometres).
The highway follows the business route west and then north approximately 0.28 miles (0.45 km) to intersect Interstate 80. [4] US 93 Alt then joins I-80 and travels west concurrently with the Interstate for 59 miles (95 km). US 93 Alt. comes to an end in the city of Wells, reuniting with mainline US 93 at the I-80 East Wells interchange (exit 352).
The highway then enters the Las Vegas urban area upon passing the State Route 146 (SR 146, Saint Rose Parkway) interchange. From Silverado Ranch Boulevard to US 95 , the freeway has HOV lanes that are currently enforced by both Metro and NHP , 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and is the only state within the nation to do so.
The Las Vegas Beltway carries two numerical designations. 11.1 miles (17.9 km) of the highway, from its southern terminus at Interstate 11 (I-11) / U.S. Route 93 (US 93) / US 95 in Henderson west and northwest to I-15, is signed as Interstate 215 (I-215) and maintained by the Nevada Department of Transportation. In 1935, the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO, later AASHTO) authorized a southward extension of U.S. Route 93 from its previous southern terminus in Glendale, Nevada to Kingman, Arizona via Las Vegas, Boulder City, and a crossing of the Colorado River on the newly-constructed Hoover Dam (then known as Boulder Dam).
