Psalm 34 is the 34th psalm of the Book of Psalms, beginning in English in the King James Version: "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." The Book of Psalms is part of the third section of the Hebrew Bible , and a book of the Christian Old Testament .
The psalms, especially, were felt to be commended to be sung by these texts. One example is James 5:13 "Is any merry? let him sing psalms." (The word translated "sing psalms" in the KJV at James 5:13 is ψαλλετω. [4] Some other versions give more general translations such as "sing praise" in the ESV.)
The Psalms of the two versions are numbered differently. The Vulgate follows the Septuagint numbering, while the King James Version follows the numbering of the Masoretic Text.
