The article claims these were Le Mesurier’s last words. It’s supported by a citation, but I suspect it’s an urban myth. In the documentary Dad’s Army: Secret Lives & Scandals, Le Mesurier’s wife, Joan, appears on camera and emphatically states that his last words were “I’m fed up of it now”.
