Clintondale is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 1,938 at the 2020 census. Clintondale is located at the northern town line of the Town of Plattekill. The community is on US Route 44 and NY 55 at the junction of County Route 22.

In 1901 the New York State Legislature passed the Tenement Housing Act of 1901, which established a city Tenement Housing Department, including a Buildings Bureau and a Bureau of Inspection.
