La Villita Historic Arts Village is an art community in downtown San Antonio, Texas, United States. There are art galleries , stores selling souvenirs, gifts, custom jewelry, pottery, and imported Mexican folk art, as well as several restaurants in the district.
The Otto Bombach House is a contributing structure in the La Villita Historic District of the Bexar County city of San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas. [1] The one-and-two-story native limestone structure was built by German immigrant Bombach in the mid-19th century.
Eventually, SACS moved their headquarters to the Anton Wulff House, and used the Dashiell house as the operational office for A Night in Old San Antonio. [4] When the National Park Service designated La Villita as a national historic district in 1972, the Dashiell house was listed as a contributing property. [5]
In 1724, after remnants of a Gulf Coast hurricane destroyed the existing structures at Misión San Antonio de Valero, the mission was moved to its current location. [13] At the time, the new location was just across the San Antonio River from the town of San Antonio de Béxar and just north of a group of huts known as La Villita. [14]
