The Ormsby-Kelly House is a historic residence located in Emmetsburg, Iowa, United States.The house was built for A.L. Ormsby who was a local banker who also had significant land holdings in Iowa and Canada.
Emmet County was created by authority of the Iowa Legislature in 1851. Enough settlers had been established in the area to organize the county in 1859. [3] The county was named for the Irish patriot Robert Emmet, who was hanged as a traitor to the British government at the age of 25.
