Prior to the Civil War, these structures were designed in a broad range of architectural styles, including colonial, Federal, Greek Revival and Italianate. [3] The borough is 15 miles (24 km) south of Allentown and Bethlehem and 40 miles (64 km) north of Philadelphia, making Quakertown a border town of both the Delaware Valley and Lehigh Valley metropolitan areas.
