Rawalpindi Medical University (جامعہِ طبیہ راولپنڈی) is a public university located in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It is affiliated with three public sector teaching hospitals (Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital & DHQ Hospital- Rawalpindi) for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education & training.
It was established in 2015 and run by the Pakistan Army Medical Corps. Previously, Army Medical College (which is a military-run medical institute) [3] [4] was affiliated with National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan (NUST) but now it is a constituent college of the university.

Provincial medical entrance exams included the MDCAT conducted by the University of Health Sciences, Lahore in Punjab and Balochistan before the NMDCAT. It was implemented in 1998 as the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) on the initiative of the then chief minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to counter replete cheating in HSSC exams at the time.
